GENERAL JOHN LOGAN ENGRAVED CIVIL WAR PORTRAIT 1865

An original India Proof Engraving of Illinois General John Logan, winner of the Medal of Honor for his bravery at Vicksburg; Logan was a brilliant combat commander, from Belmont & Fort Donelson, to Resaca, Dallas & Atlanta. One of only 100 copies made, publ by Vertue & Yorston, NYC, 1865, at the Civil War's End. 16 x 12" waistview. This Series was unmarked, & I will provide copy of the gallery fronts-piece. This is not one of the small bookplate images often encountered. Edge wear, age spots, Overall VG.

US Navy Lieutenant Frank K Hill was an officer on the Cruiser USS Brooklyn during the Battle of Santiago Bay, Cuba 1898. An original signed chestview photo of Lt Hill wearing his campaign medals including the USS Brooklyn Medal given by the Citizens of Brooklyn, and also the Battle of Santiago Bay WT Sampson Medal. The 8 x 10" sepia tone photo is ink signed on the lower margin "With Love F. K Hill". Reverse w a circa 1898 "War Department" imprint. Age dark at margins, Overall Exc.

US GENERAL WILLIAM S GRAVES SIBERIAN EXPEDITION COMMANDER PHOTO

General William Sidney Graves was a Wyoming Frontier infantry officer but is best remembered as Commander of the Siberian Expedition American Expeditionary Forces, keeping the Trans-Siberian railroad open and providing safe conduct for the Czech Legion during the Allied peacekeeping effort. He was called "the only honorable man" in the catastrophic affair. An original circa 1929 Photo of General Graves taken in Panama where he commanded US Forces on the canal, 1927-29 . General Graves is seated at his desk, with major general rank straps and AEF campaign bar. 8 x 6" w linen back, blue pencil idd "Gen Graves Cristobel (Panama)". VG. Comes w bio info.

CAPTURED MILITARY BUTTON GROUP CUBA PHILIPPINES WAR OF 1898

An original group of 97 brass artillery coat buttons captured from the Spanish in 1898- I obtained these non-dug buttons years ago from Bannerman's Arsenal. Francis Bannerman purchased the captured Spanish Army ordnance and uniforms, insignia, etc from the US government circa 1900. The handsome 2pc brass coat buttons w crossed cannon, cannon balls and the crown of Castile. The brass buttons have silvered iron backs and copper button hooks. The buttons bear Barcelona and Paris maker backmarks. All are Good to Exc condition, a few with minor rust spots on reverse only. The group.

An original complete 8pp Civil War newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer October 4, 1862 with a nice 7 x 10" front page map titled "Seat of War in Virginia and Maryland" showing the battle sites from Hagerstown & Sharpsburg to Harpers Ferry with the latest from the Battlefield at Antietam, Maryland- President Lincoln's Review of the Army at Antietam & details of his vist to Harpers Ferry, Battle Report minors Hill & Bolivar Heights, Lincoln's First Emancipation Proclamation, etc. VG, disbound with small edge cuts. The Inquirer was one of the few Civil War papers that routinely showed fine front page illustrations of War events and these illus issues are suitable for framing.
